Charity stuff

I am delighted to be supporting a number of charities again this year, I have donated a huge framed original painting of Ben Hobday's supercob Mulry's Error and Willberry to be auctioned at the BE Scotland Ball in aid of the late great Hannah Francis's charity Wilberry Wonder Pony. I have also designed a range of Christmas cards for local childrens cancer charity Toby's Magical Journey and have gifted them the 4 original artworks and a portrait voucher for auction.

I do get an awful lot of requests and as a 'one woman show' I sadly cannot give every time, even though the cause is very deserving.  To donate a portrait is the rough equivalent of working a week with no wages so I appreciate people's understanding when I have to decline a request for donations

upcoming events: theBoathouse Makers Markets

hello, what a busy summer so far!  My next events are The Boathouse Loch Leven on 31st July and 28th August, see me there with my new products, gorgeous cushions and my new locally made wooden coasters.  The Boathouse is now an award winning restaurant so what better excuse for having lunch there too?

Falkland Midsummer Festival

I celebrated a whole year of self employment last month! I am excited to be attending The Falkland Street Fair on Saturday 25th June, my first event of the year, I have a squishy pile of my gorgeous new art cushions, coasters and lots of quirky sketchbook originals of Coos, Hares, Horses and Stags, I will also be available to discuss and book portrait commissions, hope to see you there.

Happy New Year! a catch up and roundup

hello, I'm not very good at this whole blogging thing, it's been a while since I posted - but thats because I have been very very busy!

A brief roundup, I was very lucky to be selected to take a stand at the Boathouse Makers Markets which were held September - December last year at the lovely Boathouse in Kinross, I diversified a little by offering framed originals from my sketchbook for sale as well as being available to discuss and book pet portrait commissions, I will soon have some of my original drawings, and new wooden coasters, available to buy here on my site.

2015 was also a sad year in that I had to say goodbye to two of my beloved elderly cats, I miss them a lot, I hope to do their portraits for myself when time allows as I know from all my client feedback how nice it is to have them on the wall.

I gifted a portrait to auction to a charity called Giveadogabone, a Scottish charity who assist and support the elderly to have a pet, and who also help rehome rescue pets. Their portrait subject was Max, a skinny Romanian rescue who was the picture of fear and misery in his cage with his plastic tag through his ear, I was given a picture of him shining in his new life to draw and you can see Max's portrait in my dog gallery.

in 2016 so far I have had a fun morning with an art group talking about my pet portraits and supporting the students to try it themselves using pastels, big thanks to the amazing and award winning artist Kirsty Lorenz for inviting me to her studio to do this.

until the next blog...
